Otters are cute, furry and among the most charismatic creatures in the wild. They’re also in the spotlight as we celebrate Otter Days.
There will be lots of family fun as you learn about these amazing creatures and what we can do to help them. Discover more about efforts to save California’s threatened southern sea otter population by talking with our Sea Otter Research and Conservation staff. The weekend also includes special programs, a family craft room and otter-related prizes.
Here are just a few of the things you can do:
- Attend otter feeding and training sessions.
- Meet our aquarists and learn how they care for otters.
- Meet an animal behavior expert, learn why we train otters and participate in a fun training session.
- Join sea otter researchers and trackers on the Great Tide Pool deck for some otter spotting. Get your otter questions answered and search for sea otters swimming by.
